Dyson questions whether busyness and materialism are used to create an illusion of security and permanence, something she believes does not exist. She argues there is no such thing as security or certainty, that life is inherently uncertain because the world and the things in it are constantly changing. She believes striving for security makes for insecurity and closes the mind, and that once you let go and trust the universe, you gain personal power and freedom.
